about Jake
Jake Epstein is an experienced trial lawyer who has litigated matters in federal court and all levels of state court in North Carolina. He represents clients in a variety of civil litigation matters, including commercial/business litigation, contract disputes, health care, and personal injury. Jake regularly advises clients on ways to obtain their desired results without litigation while simultaneously protecting their interests in the event litigation becomes necessary. He also represents clients before administrative agencies and licensing boards.

He is admitted to practice in all N.C. State Courts, Federal District Courts for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of North Carolina, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.

Before starting Epstein Sherlin, PLLC, Jake practiced with McGuireWoods LLP, a large international law firm. His practice included representation of commercial entities in product liability litigation and contract disputes and defending health care practitioners and institutions in lawsuits alleging medical negligence and personal injury. Before joining McGuireWoods, Jake served as a law clerk to Senior Resident Superior Court Judge Carl R. Fox. He received his B.A. from Duke University and his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.

He has also served on and chaired numerous committees. In his spare time, Jake enjoys playing sports and spending time with his family and friends.
